Welcome to Crayons and Castles Childcare!!

Here you will find some pictures of our play areas and a little bit about me as well.

My name is Michelle and I have been in childcare for 8 years and licensed in the state of Virginia for 7 years. This is an in home facility and I am licensed for up to 12 children, ages 6 weeks to 12 years. I have been married for 13 years and we have 2 daughters that are 12 and 9 years old. My daycare has it's own large playroom and I also have an outdoor play area in the back yard. I teach the children shapes, colors, numbers, letters and sign language. I also have at home field trips once a month, where I can get the organization to come to us. I usually base that on our themes for the month. My husband and I have lived in Virginia Beach for 12 years. We are both prior military and understand the importance of the role they play. Our family is also very active within the 4-H Community. We believe in community service and like working with children of all ages. We also have a few pets. I have 2 Boston Terriers, that just love everyone. My youngest daughter shows rabbits, and has 3 of them. And my oldest daughter has a horse that she rides and shows. The dogs occasionally are around the daycare children, but the rabbits are in another part of the house. And of course, we don't have enough room here for the horse, though my daughter would love for her to be here as well. I have a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Counseling and Nursing, so I believe that education is very important and feel that education in early development is the key.
